How We Work

We act as your general contractor from first call to final walkthrough — so you can focus on running your business, not managing construction.

Why It Matters

Most Business Owners Aren't Construction Experts — and They Shouldn't Have to Be

When you hire a general contractor, you get one accountable team. We coordinate the trades, manage the schedule, handle the inspections, and make sure things are done correctly. If something goes wrong, you call us — not five different people.

A big advantage of working with UCBM Construction Group is that mechanical and HVAC work runs through our sister company, UCBM HVAC. On most projects, HVAC coordination is where delays and miscommunication happen. We cut that problem out entirely.

We also start every project with a real budget conversation. We'd rather tell you what's realistic upfront than win the job and deliver surprises later.

One team, one contract

As your general contractor, we manage all the moving parts — subcontractors, scheduling, materials, inspections. You deal with us, not a dozen vendors.

In-house HVAC through UCBM HVAC

Most GCs have to subcontract HVAC separately, which creates coordination gaps and finger-pointing when things go wrong. UCBM Construction works directly with UCBM HVAC — same family, no gaps.

Budget-first approach

We have the budget conversation at the start, not after you've fallen in love with a design. We tell you what your budget can realistically achieve and help you prioritize.

Designed for small & mid-size businesses

We work at the scale that makes sense for restaurants, retail stores, small business suites, and light industrial facilities — not massive corporate campuses. We understand your timeline and constraints.

Clean job sites

If you're still operating your business during construction, a messy job site isn't just inconvenient — it affects your customers. We take job site cleanliness seriously.

Photo documentation at every stage

We document progress and completed work with professional photos. Useful for insurance, landlord records, future renovations, or just your own peace of mind.

The Process

From First Call to Final Walkthrough

Every project follows a consistent 5-step process designed to protect your schedule, your budget, and your sanity.

Step 01

Free Consultation

Tell us about your project — what you're trying to do, your timeline, and your budget. No pressure, no sales pitch. We listen first so we can give you an honest assessment.

Step 02

Scope & Proposal

We visit the site, confirm what needs to be done, and send you a clear written proposal. Scope, cost, timeline — no vague estimates. We work within your budget and tell you upfront what's realistic.

Step 03

Pre-Construction Planning

Before any work starts, we coordinate permits, access, work hours, and trade partners. If HVAC or mechanical work is involved, our sister company UCBM HVAC handles it — no separate contractors to juggle.

Step 04

Construction

We execute the work in an organized sequence, keep the job site clean, and communicate any field conditions that could affect cost or schedule before moving forward. You're never surprised.

Step 05

Punch List & Closeout

We do a final walkthrough together, address any remaining items, and hand over a complete photo record of the finished work. You get a professional closeout package for your records.
